Introduction to Coding with SCRATCH 3 Level 1

In this Eight Day coding camp, participants will learn how to code with SCRATCH 3.0. In this first installment of a three part programme, participants will learn what Coding is and the role of Coding in the 21st century workplace. They will learn how to create their own characters and backgrounds which they get to use animations and games. The workshop is a fun and engaging programme where they get to learn the role of lifeskills like grit, curiosity and creativity in getting an idea from the realm of imaginaton into being a digital product whether it is creating their own game or an animation

Fun with 3D modelling and 3D Printing : Designing and 3D Printing my first Product!

3D printing technology is creating new ways of doing everyday things. But what is 3D printing and how can young people harness this technology and use it to find new ways of solving today and tomorrow's problems?  Join us in this one day introductory program where participants will learn how to use Computer Assisted Design (CAD) Software to create 3D models and 3D print them in real time ! It gets even more fun as they get to use their new found knowledge to solve a real world design challenge as they create a 3D model of a key ring and see their design come to life through 3D printing !!  .... and they get to collect and keep their creation!

Exploring Simple Machines: Building a Robodog

Simple Machine are the basic building blocks of all modern machines ( gears, levers, screw, inclined plane etc etc). In this once off workshop we explore how Gears and Levers work together to bring about motion to mechanical objects by building a working model of a 4  legged walking machine nicknamed 'Robodog'. Robodog is battery powered and we will have fun navigating our robo creature around spaces. A kit with all the tools and materials needed to build Robodog is included in the workshop fee

Introduction to Electronics: Level 1 

This is the first installment to our multi part Electronics and Internet of Things series. This engaging workshop provides both theory and a strong practical component to Electronics and details electronics components that include Transistors, Resistors, Capacitors, Diodes, switches, buzzers, among other things. It is a great companion to those studying electronics in GCSE and Zimsec. Through the 4 day program participants will get to carry out fun and engaging projects including building a transistor flashing lights circuit, sound generators and lots more using the supplied Mini Electronics kit. Not only will they get a solid and practical understanding of electronics but they will learn about the 'soft skills' like learning to persist, learning to collaborate, developing grit and how these are powerful enablers to success in the 21st century economy.

Fun with 3D Printing and 3D Modelling: Fashion Design Workshop

This is a 3 day workshop where participants will learn the basics of 3D modelling and using Computer Assisted Design Software to create 3D models. Over a 2 Day period they will combine their new found knowledge with their creativity to design fashion accessories like earrings, bracelets, rings, pendants and watch their creations come to life through 3D printing. IT gets even better.... they can collect their masterpieces from our office and they get to keep them !

Fun with 3D Printing and 3D Modelling: Miniature Electric Vehicle Challenge

What is 3D printing ? What is design Thinking ? How can young people use design thinking and 3D printing as tools to find new solutions to problems in their communities ? In this 3 day workshop participants will learn the Design Thinking Process and the basics of 3D modelling using Computer Assisted Design (CAD Software. With the help of our trained facilitator, they will take materials in their supplied kit and combine them with their new found knowledge and creativity to design their very own functional battery powered miniature electric vehicle. Using 3D printing, participants will get to see their creations come to life. In this ground breaking workshop, we learn about the journey an idea takes from the realm of imagination to reality and how soft skills like learning to persist, learning to collaborate, developing grit, play a key role in bringing alive any ideas or dreams. We will make mistakes but they they are part of the journey to success.
